One of our assignments this semester was to NOT attend class for a day, and instead, photograph an assigned portion of the campus for the institution’s yearly “Day in the Life” magazine, which comes out every September. I was assigned to cover the SAIT Recreation program and got to photograph some pretty cool (and free) programs offered to SAIT students. We were also supposed to shoot a few feature-type photos as well. SAIT is lucky to have some pretty interesting buildings so I took advantage of some of the neat light fixtures in the Aldred Centre.
CALGARY – SAIT Polytechnic students utilize the Aldred Centre’s communal computer lab, located on the third floor of the recently completed building, on March 6. The Aldred Centre has been awarded for its eco-friendly characteristics, including this molecule-shaped light fixture hung from the ceiling, which remains off during bright days but changes colour in the evening. Students attend a relaxing heated yoga class on March 3. The class, held twice a week in the Campus Centre, is one of many that SAIT Recreation offers free of charge to students that hold a valid SAIT ID. (Photo by Amanda Siebert)
