I am both a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor deeply invested in helping my clients cultivate a love for moving their bodies. As a psychedelic integration coach, I offer one-on-one integration sessions for people seeking personalized support on their psychedelic journeys. (I also occasionally moonlight as a portrait photographer — check out some of my work here.)

My Work as a Journalist

Prior to becoming a trainer and coach, I was a freelance journalist and photographer for ten years. My byline has appeared in The New York Times, Forbes, Lucid News, Healing Maps, Daily Om, Vice, Leafly, The Dales Report, Calgary Herald, and The Georgia Straight (where I received awards for my work and regularly photographed covers), among many others. I also hosted the podcast Ibogaine Uncovered.

Books I’ve Written

Additionally, I’ve written two books about cannabis and psychedelic drugs. I released my first book, The Little Book of Cannabis: How Marijuana Can Improve Your Life, on October 17, 2018 — the same day Canada legalized cannabis. It became the #1-selling non-fiction cannabis book in the country.

In my second book, Psyched: 7 Cutting-Edge Psychedelics Changing The World (2022), I break down the history, science, and cultural and medical uses of seven different psychedelic drugs and plant medicines. These breakdowns are contextualized with case studies and interviews with scientists, doctors, therapists, advocates, ethnobotanists and practitioners. I also write a Substack called A to Z of Altered States.

Recognition

I received a Cosmic Sister Emerging Voices Award in 2022. That same year, the Microdose Awards honoured me as Reporter of the Year at their second annual event. More recently, the Cannadelic Awards named me Psychedelic Journalist of the Year in 2023.

I am available for personal training, group fitness classes, as well as one-on-one psychedelic coaching. Check out my online shop for personalized copies of my books and other resources.
